With manufacturing facilities in Arizona, Indiana, Washington, Oregon and Georgia, this Indiana-based snack food company produces specialty food brands in better-for-you and indulgent categories under a variety of company-owned and licensed brand names, including Seattle’s Best Coffee, Rader Farms and Nathan’s Famous. The company manufactures T.G.I.Friday’s snack foods in Indiana, where 11,500 square feet of the facility’s floors needed improvement -and in short order.

Surface Solutions’ team of in-house experts recommend an application of high-performing UCRETE® HP, part of a solid color flooring system composed of polyurethane and concrete that uses a broadcast aggregate to add texture.

Working under existing equipment, our experienced installation team prepares the existing floor with steel shotblasting, ideal for food and beverage plants because the process produces very little contamination. In shotblasting, steel shot is propelled at the substrate surface at a very high speed. The impact of the shot breaks up the concrete surface, which helps to ensure a proper bond to the substrate surface during the application process. An added benefit: the spent shot is collected, cleaned and recycled.

The crew also slopes the floor toward the drain trench. After re-prepping, the UCRETE HP is troweled on at a thickness of ¼-inch.
