Coating over existing epoxy floor coating systems: Surface Solutions Epoxy products are acceptable for use over existing epoxy flooring systems when they are in sound condition, are not delaminating, and are properly prepared. With that said best results will always be obtained by removing any existing epoxy floor coatings, because the most recently applied floor epoxy is only as good as what it is bonded too. However, Surface Solutions coating products can often be applied directly to a wide variety of existing epoxy flooring systems, industrial flooring systems, and similar floor paint systems without removal, primer, or extensive prep-work.
