Qualities of a Successful Flooring Installation

As we enter the first quarter of 2015, many food and beverage or manufacturing managers may be conducting an annual “repair-or-replace” analysis of the flooring systems in their facilities or plants to determine if the surfaces are still in good shape –they’re not affected by chemicals, still functional and long-lasting. Chemical resistance, moisture, vapor emission, PH testing and core sampling is performed prior to awarding the contract
Comprehensive job specifications take into consideration the existing conditions in the facility –sloping, chemical attack, staining, delamination, cracking and excessive wear- an understanding of the elements that affect flooring installations, the quality control measures put in place and the range of expertise the flooring installers bring to the table, including knowledge of flooring materials, concrete, drain placement, procurement and special needs guidelines
The committed project team that can include an architect, designer, general contractor, construction manager, surface preparation team, installers, flooring contractors and the like- are responsible for compliance
