Core Testing

Concrete core sampling may be used to identify sources of potential or existing coatings failure in complicated flooring cases. Microscopial examination, chemical analysis, and strength testing may all be performed from a concrete core sample.

For example, in many industries oil saturation in concrete is a common issue. Oil is frequently a primary cause of adhesion related failures of floor coatings, floor toppings, and primary containment linings.

In some cases, the oil has penetrated far deeper into the slab than any degreaser or surface preparation method will solve. A core sample can be taken to determine the depth and level of oil saturation within the concrete.
