Relative Humidity Testing

High relative humidity levels in concrete slabs and walls is often a primary cause of adhesion related failures of non-permeable floor coatings, floor toppings, and primary containment linings. Adhesion related failures, osmotic blistering, delamination, and deterioration of the polymer flooring are often the result of high relative humidity within the concrete.

Nationally, costs associated with these types of coatings failures, considering materials, labor, and revenue loss associated with downtime and disruption to facility operations amount to millions of dollars annually.

To determine whether the relative humidity within the concrete is too high for non-permeable polymer flooring, Surface Solutions will perform a Relative Humidity Test in accordance with ATSM F2170, “Standard Test Method for Determining Relative Humidity in Concrete Flood Slabs Using In Situ Probes.”

Testing the relative humidity of the concrete slab is just one of many necessary precautions Surface Solutions takes in order to deliver the right solution to the customer the first time.

Surface Solutions has completed projects with epoxy and industrial flooring products projects ranging in size from a few hundred square feet to several hundred thousand. We also offer a single source warranty Get a Flooring Quote Now!which includes labor and material. Call today for more information or to tell us about your concrete coating needs.
