Surface Solutions, Inc. will be back at our long-time customer’s plastics facility for more Ucrete DP installations in the near future.

For this 1,500-square-foot industrial flooring project, Surface Solutions installers shot blast the bare concrete substrate, then key the edges and transitions to prevent any lip, which is considered a trip hazard. Ucrete DP is applied to the area with a gauge rake at ¼-inch. The floor is broadcast with 40 S Neutral Quartz to full rejection. Excess sand is swept and vacuumed, followed by the application of SS449 – Surface Solutions’ brand of UV-stable, fast cure polyaspartic topcoat. The entire project is completed in two days.

Get to Know SS449 Fast Cure Polyaspartic Coating

The most outstanding feature of SS449 is its quick tack-free time for foot traffic after installation.

Surface Solutions’ self-branded SS449 is a two-component 95% solids polyaspartic aliphatic polyaspartic sealer that can be used as both a base coat and a topcoat over paint-chip decorative broadcasts or colored sand broadcasts. SS449 has excellent chemical resistance, hardness, abrasion resistance, UV-stability and clear Gardner color that provide an infinite array of color schemes or patterns. This product is recommended for areas where a medium build broadcasted floor is desired and installation downtime is very limited. It can also be applied over a broadcasted or troweled system as a thin to medium build sealer.

What are polyaspartic coatings?

Polyaspartic coatings are a type of a polyurea coating called aliphatic polyurea. Polyaspartic coatings are often used in protective resinous concrete floor coating applications.
