HITACHI – MONROE, GA – KOSTER VAP I® 2000

Surface Solutions conducts vapor emission testing to design a complete flooring system for a new automotive parts manufacturing facility.

Surface Solutions collaborates with Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc., a supplier of world-class products to the global automotive market, to finish a newly constructed manufacturing facility in Georgia. During months of planning and preparation, Surface Solutions tests the 180,000 square feet of new concrete to determine what elements can affect the strength, durability and life of the industrial flooring surface over time.

Due to high vapor test readings, Surface Solutions finishes the new concrete using Koster Vap I® 2000 primer, a one-coat moisture vapor reduction system formulated to prevent floor failures on concrete slabs containing elevated levels of moisture vapor emission. For texture, SS 181 is used with a broadcast of sand as a fast set pigmented Epoxy body coat. Finally, SS 181 is used as fast set pigmented Epoxy top coat in brown, to delineate aisle ways and green, to identify the production floor. The entire flooring system, which is designed for light to medium manufacturing, takes just two and one-half weeks to complete.
