Incidentally, where does the moniker, Chicagoland come from?

The term Chicagoland was first coined July 27, 1926 on the front page of the Chicago Tribune. The headline reads, Chicagoland’s Shrines: A Tour of Discoveries, a story reported by James O’Donnell Bennett. The concept of an overall moniker for Chicago and the surrounding area is that of the newspaper’s editor and publisher at the time, Colonel Robert R. McCormick. In his mind’s eye, Chicagoland included every area in a 200-mile radius in every direction from Chicago, including parts of nearby states Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa. His Chicagoland became the area which was reported on by the Tribune, the dominant print publication of the time.

Still a catchy phrase that refers to the surrounding area albeit a smaller one, Chicagoland remains the Tribune’s reporting beat.
