Heavy-Duty Ucrete IF Flooring

When this Indiana meat processing facility shut down for the holidays in December, Surface Solutions got to work installing long-lasting heavy-duty Ucrete IF flooring.

Surface Solutions, Inc., has worked with this customer for a decade, installing thousands of square feet of Ucrete resinous flooring at their facility. They love the long-term durability of Ucrete IF. 

The installation team prepared 3,500 square feet of existing bare concrete for another Ucrete installation, including 900 square feet of delaminated epoxy mortar at ¼-inch thickness which requires an extensive prefill of Ucrete UD200. Most contractors would not have this product on hand to install at the last minute, but Surface Solutions stocks extra materials like Ucrete UD200 to meet this type of project requirement.

The team applied Ucrete RG to 150 L’ of bare concrete curbing and created a 2-inch cant cove, where the curb meets the floor. The final application was Ucrete IF at ½-inch thickness, the system standard intended for the heavy load and abrasion resistance of steel-wheeled traffic. Advantages of Ucrete IF

Ucrete IF (Iron-Filled), an iron aggregate, heavy-duty, polyurethane hybrid flooring system, has a proven track record for providing long-lasting durable floors, especially in the harshest workspaces of heavy engineering workshops and processing areas, under mixing heads, in storage bunkers and loading docks and heavy equipment maintenance facilities. It is ideal for industrial environments, providing a high level of impact tolerance and abrasion resistance; in fact, a Ucrete IF floor can actually increase impact and abrasion resistance because it is formulated to withstand wider temperature fluctuations and tolerate both organic and inorganic acids, alkalis and salts.

Advantages of Ucrete UD200

Ucrete UD200 is a three-part concrete coating treatment and flooring system that is free of solvents, withstands extreme temperature fluctuations, and is resistant to abrasion and impact. Specify it for:

• Medium to heavy-duty application thickness of (6mm – 10mm) 1/4″ to 3/8″
• Areas subject to mechanical cleaning
• Environments under constant chemical attack
• Service temperatures of -45ºC to 112ºC (-50ºF to 235ºF)
• Areas requiring slip resistance even when wet
• Areas where cleanliness and hygiene needs to meet ADA recommendations
• Interior or exterior industrial environments
• Limited downtime required; can be applied to 7- to10-day-old concrete
• Areas where no priming of sealing of substrate is required

Ideal for coolers, freezers, waste-water treatment plants, chemical production, and processing facilities, paper and pulp mills, restaurant kitchens, pharmaceutical facilities, dairy, poultry, meat, and food warehouses and plants, construction projects, or flooring in need of repair.

Advantages of Ucrete RG

Ucrete RG is an extremely durable polyurethane and concrete additive used to form cove bases and renovate walls. It withstands heavy traffic, harsh chemicals, and fluctuating temperatures much better than a simple concrete surface. Specify it for:

• Minimum vertical/base application thickness of nominal (4mm) 3/16″
• Vertical base applications and steep slopes
• Areas subject to temperature ranges of (-45ºC) -50ºF to (104ºC) 220ºF (System #1)
• Limited downtime required; can be applied to 7- to10-day-old concrete
• Areas where no priming of sealing of substrate is required

Ideal for exterior and interior applications, old concrete, dairy, poultry, meat and food plants, storage areas, commercial freezers, pharmaceutical labs, precious metal refineries, textile warehouses, chemical manufacturing, and places that make use of other UCRETE products.
